Unfortunately when trying to add a detail I'm not able to select anything in the Object column field. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

According to the information and screenshot you are on the right way. It is not quite clear why no columns appear (there should be at least "buttons" and your string field Name).
I advice you to send an email to support@bpmonline.com providing more information so it could be investigated. You can also try to save your preconfigured page along with the business-process and then edit it again checking whether it is possible to select any column.
